  • The New Zealand Herald was founded in 1863, and in 1998 it established nzherald.co.nz. The Herald’s online presence draws over 2.1 million users per month, and is New Zealand’s most popular news website. At the 2007 and 2008 Qantas Media Awards, nzherald.co.nz was awarded best news website.


    NZ Herald Shopping launched in November 2009, just in time for the Christmas rush. After seeing the success of the online shopping portals of overseas news sites like the Guardian and the NY Times, nzherald.co.nz turned to online shopping specialist Hubsta to design and run its own online shopping offering.


    Yahoo!Xtra is a joint venture between Telecom New Zealand and Yahoo!7 and connects New Zealanders to their passions, communities and the world's knowledge online. New Zealanders are able to benefit from an enhanced range of online services in a localised way including news, sport, entertainment and the globe’s best content, social networking and interactive tools.


    Yahoo!Xtra is New Zealand’s biggest portal with over 2.5 million unique New Zealand users per month, and has been growing its local audience by more than 20 percent year-on-year. The company decided to offer a shopping channel to its large audience, to complement its many other channels. CEO Kevin Bowler says that Yahoo!Xtra partnered with Hubsta “because it offers an unparalleled number of brands and products, including numerous brands not available online before”.


    TheDeal.co.nz is New Zealand’s largest online discount store. The site was founded as a place for quality brands to move their excess stock, and for consumers to purchase those products at outlet prices. The Deal now offers more and more current retail products, always at deep discounts.
